Bakersfield Punk Rock Potluck and some music

Ok so I know I haven't posted anything for a while now, well no excuse for it but I'm still dealing with different Dr's for different things along with me trying to deal with my depression and being in constant pain (bulging discs in my lower back and severe nerve damage/neuropathy in my feet and legs). That and all the different shows I've gone to and have recorded and took pictures of the bands, I'm trying to get caught up on editing everything, posting videos to Youtube and converting all the bands sets into mp3's.       And now up top of all that in the last month me and a friend are setting up a house show with different local bands (and it's also a potluck) trying to help strengthen and unify our local scene here in Bakersfield. So at the end of the month (May 30th) we are having a Punk Rock Potluck house show with 4 bands we are gonna try and make this a monthly thing with different local bands, so I've been keeping myself busy doing all this stuff and I'm hoping on putting together some comps (digital for now and maybe physical copies if I can afford to make some) of all the local bands we have here in town and surrounding areas.

Well onto some music now , these are 2 band that I got to see when I first moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1996 (well one is from Tulsa and the other is from O.K.C.). So first up is one of Tulsa's finest (next to the exceptional N..O.T.A.) is Brother Inferior. When I first moved to Oklahoma I actually lived about an hour north of Tulsa in a small town called Mannford and I would go into Tulsa to hopefully be able to find some shows to go to, not knowing anyone or knowing the town didn't help but I finally find a record store called Starship Records where I found flyers to some show, the first show I went to was in a upstairs loft area and I don't remember all the bands since they were all new to me but if I remember right the main band was THE KIDS WHO NEVER LEARNED TO COLOR INSIDE THE LINES. After that I kinda got to know more people and started going to more shows when I could find them and one band I really enjoyed seeing play and were nice people were Brother Inferior, I got to see them a few times in different locations in Tulsa and 2 of them were absolutely great. One show was at The Eclipse (I think) with a reunion show with N.O.T.A. (fucking amazing to see them again) and the other was at the legendary CAIN'S BALLROOM (yeah the same place the SEX PISTOLS played at on Jan 11, 1978) with the almighty SPAZZ.                                                                                                                                                          The SPAZZ show had some other heavy ass bands play RASH OF BEATINGS (from Fort Smith, Arkansas) and my first time seeing O.K.C.'s SUBSANITY
SUBSANITY would be kinda hard to describe their sound, you could see them at one show and they could play more sludgy Black Sabbath tunes or the next time you seen them it was more black metal, death, grindcore stuff or a complete mix of both. I got to see them a couple times when I lived there and when I moved back a few years later I seen Mike (singer for SUBSANITY) play with his other band A FATE FAR WORSE in Norman, Oklahoma.                                                                                                                           Anyways now I leave you some tunes from 2 of Oklahoma's great bands (well to me anyways)                                                             BROTHER INFERIOR
