Slacking again and trying to change that

 Ok so I been slacking on posting anything really on here lately, well I've been still dealing with all these damn Dr. appointments and visits, going to get different tests done and this fucking depression that I've been having to deal with.   Well things seem a little better lately and got some plans in the very near future that needs to been a little more organized before they start happening and I'm working on them starting to happen. One is a Punk Rock Potluck (still trying to work on exactly where we are gonna start holding it at) I want to start getting people together that we see at shows but really don't interact with, to get together say once a month to just hang out and bring some records to listen to (similar to Keri's Record Friday) but to make it a giant potluck for everybody (I know of a few ideas of what I want to cook and bring) just bring some records and a good attitude and avoid the drama and bullshit, we want to try and strengthen and unify our scene more.                                                                                                                                     Another thing I really want to do is do a comp of local bands of whatever style (mainly current bands) it's gonna be online at first (hopefully maybe cd's later on) like a couple songs and a little info on the band (contact, members, lyric's, etc). We have lot's of bands around here and I'm sure others I haven't heard of yet, I've talked to a few bands and they're interested but beyond that I don't really have had a response from many bands at all. I don't profit off any of this I'm doing it to get local Bakersfield area bands some exposure.                                                                                                                                                Anyone has any ideas or thoughts on any of these ideas and if your in a local band or know members in local bands tell them to contact me.  Yeah I haven't really posted anything for a while just my usual "I'll get around to it later" attitude, well it really sucks having to deal with severe depression and pain on a continues basis and just trying to deal with it and get along with life.                                                                                                                        I've put off a lot of stuff that I have been meaning to do on here, like post more show reviews, just music it general and doing band interviews. But thing's have gotten a little better for me so I've been trying to get out more and go to shows a lot more (which I have been doing and have seen some hella great bands lately and more coming up.                                                                                                                            Well what I have for you this time is a whole bunch of live recordings from shows that I have filmed over the last few years ( and a couple from 2000 and one from 93 or 94) bunch of local bands and out of town bands. When I started off filming bands I just videoed with my cell phone camera and since I wasn't sure about doing it , the earlier recordings I would film just a few songs, stop, and film a few more songs. Well I didn't really like the bands set chopped up like that so I finally starting filming the bands full sets (which I really enjoy).                                                                                                            The sound quality will fluctuate during the full sets because I am walking around filming and taking pics from different angles and sometimes from even behind the bands (so don't bitch about the sound quality). Kaleko Urgandak West Coast Tour 2025 Bakersfield 10/04/2025

It's Been a while since this happened so I'm just gonna post the video's and pictures, yeah should I write a review of the show I probably should, but with dealing with so much at the time (Dr's, severe stress, mental stress, etc) I'm just gonna do a shortened version of it. Sorry everyone but next time I'll try to do a better job.

This was a show I was excited to go and see even though I wasn't feeling the best I still went and had a lot of fun with a bunch of old friends and some new. So this time around playing at Jerry's Pizza we had another band from another country play here again and this time it was a band from The Basque Country, Spain KALEKO URDANGAK.                                                                                                    Up first was RUFFHOUSE these Bako boys got it started off with Tequila (the Pee Wee version) and continued with some great tunes and this was their first show. Sadly there were very few people downstairs so they missed out on a great band,                                                                                                          

 

                                                                                                                                                                      Next up were SORE LIFE which consisted of members from Bakersfield and Fresno, never heard them before but I know the drummer Moe has done other projects with them so I had an idea what to expect, and again there were very few people, but that sucks for them and I hope to see more from this band.

House Show 06/30/2025

I had forgotten about this show (hell I didn't know who was all playing) until I got a call from Travis (owner of the house) reminding me about it and asking if I would show up to kinda patrol the kids from doing illegal stuff just in case the cops showed up to shut down the show, and surprisingly no cops showed up. I showed up about 4:30 and just kicked it with Travis for a while in the garage until kids and the bands starting showing up.                                                                                                                       The bands played in the living room and for such a small place the bands and the crowd seemed to have a lot of fun.
 DJ KRAZY BITCH 666 and SPIRAL BLAST kicked it off  with some power violence, grind noise core, a 3 piece band consisting of youngsters (well youngsters to me since i was probably twice as old as most of the kids there)

 

Up next were ONLY ONE, I didn't know who there were or even where they were from until recently I found out they were from Bako and they would be a band you would most likely see at 415 BKFD. A little bit hardcore, powerviolence ( they kinda remind me of Man Is The Bastard).                                    Unfortunately I only got a couple songs because I was outside talking to a few people.                               And if anyone has any info on ONLY ONE can you send it to me.   

 

And the next band I guess you could call the local house band since the guitarist Dolly lives there and her dad owns the house GOVERNMENT SURVEILLANCE some powerviolence, grind, crust, raw punk noise (they remind a lot of SORE THROAT from England) and a little something that Jade (the singer) said that this was gonna be the band's last show ever                                                                       I've seen the band play a few different times and they have to had a revolving lineup except for mainly Luna -drums, Dolly - guitar and Jade - vocals. if this the end for Government Surveillance I hope the best for members next adventure.                                                                                  

I have heard of the next band and I'm sure they've played Bako before at 415 BKFD, so from Fresno was MARTIRIO a mexican hardcore thrash metal band with female vocals. Fucking insane and the kids seemed to love the band, this was my first time seeing them and was blown away.     

All the way from Portland Oregon we had a bunch of youngsters and I mean a couple were youngsters of 15 the bassist and guitarist were only 18 and 19. Hell on their bandcamp page their "See Through You" recording was released in December 2023 so that would make the drummer and singer at 13 1/2 on that recording.                                                                                                                                           The band was tight as hell fast and hella energetic, but the biggest problem thru all the bands sets were the vocals, the p.a. just wasn't loud enough. I like taking video and pictures from different areas and views and sometimes the vocals were a little louder in a different location. You never know what your gonna get with a house show but that's what expected. Travis had a banner of Negative Approach up in the corner of the living room and the singer walked over and pointed to it  and then the band broke into "Ready To Fight". The crowd singing along and the singer/drummer of ONLY ONE  took over for a bit.

Had a blast seeing some new bands and me and Travis talked to the singers (Aggro) dad on and off throughout the night and to find out I was the oldest fucker there (damn I'm old) but it's great seeing shows like this and the youngsters still carrying the hardcore D.I.Y. feeling .Was talking to the members of AGGRO and after playing Bako they would really like to come back and play again.                           Hope I feel good enough and not in a lot of hella pain to continue to go to shows on occassion, I wish a lot more often but that's not always easy to do.  Sorry it took so long to post this but still dealing with severe pain and nerve damage along with depression sometimes makes it hard to get things going and finished, I may start something then I got no energy or get the feeling of "why bother doing anything, it don't mean shit anyways". This depression and pain I've been dealing with for quite a few years now and it's getting worse as for my depression its all caused from all my medical bullshit and all the shit the Dr.s have or are putting me through, pumping me of more pills but then really doing nothing to help me get anywhere close to better and S.S.D.I. (social security disability insurance) giving me the fucking run around for 11 years now and I've been fighting them and being denied time and time again and I keep appealing. It's frustrating and aggravating but I somehow keep fighting to keep my head, heart and soul afloat in this sea of shit.    So there maybe time where i post something every few days or maybe every few months because it's hard to tell how I'll be day to day. Hell I need to post every few days because I have so much damn music so maybe beware.
