So I had someone comment on my other blog "Under The Red And Black Flag" if I could repost the Thrasher Skate Rock Comps, so since I've been trying to do more on this blog I decided to repost it here. Vol 1 originally came out in 1983 and I use to have the first 3 volumes that I had bought at Dave's Skates in Ventura but after that I never bought another volume of the Thrasher Skate Rock Comps, I don't know why, maybe because the following comps didn't have bands I were interested in or my musical taste had varied. Well anyways here is volume 1 thru 13 (minus volume 8, I haven't been able to find that one yet)

Finally doing something with this blog again + some music
I know it's been a long time since I have posted anything on here but I have had a lot of stuff going on in my life that have had made things difficult to handle, from dealing with different Dr. visits, severe stress along with constant pain in my feet, legs and lower back, dealing with Social Security and being denied S.S.D.I. for almost 11 years (but I have an appointment with them coming up and it looks like I should finally get it) along with some pretty bad depression has not made things easy at all, in fact there is a lot of things that I should have done but have never finished. Well enough about me and my fucked up problems in life, so Ill get to some music now with 2 different bands with 2 different styles of music.
Seth Staton Watkins is an american folk singer who primarily sings renditions of traditional/rebel Irish tunes, I don't know much else about him but I found a song on Instagram he did and after listening to it and reading the lyrics ( which hit on current events)Irish folk music and sea shanties, I enjoy this type of music , it is relaxing but the lyrics are very strong. So take a listen and you might really enjoy his music and you might recognize some tunes that other bands have also played along with his version of Bella Ciao.
2022 - Easter Rising 2022 - Rocky Road To Dublin 2022 - Working Folk 2023 - Songs Of The Sea 2025 - If The People Unite
Now this is a Hungarian Crust Punk band from Győr, Hungary but on their Bandcamp page it says they're from Šenov, Czechia.
2010 - Demo' '10 2012 - split Subterror 2014 - Disenchantment 2014 - split Convince 2021 - Infected By Religion
I have so much more music and bands to share with you of various styles and if I would get off my ass and get motivated there are a few band interviews I need to actually work on doing. But overall I'm hoping I feel good enough to make it too a few shows which I just missed Pigstick opening for The Exploited and I'm gonna miss this show with the Bako boys Rally Cry opening up for Non Servium from Spain

Live @ Jerry's Pizza 09/07/2024
I don't get to go out to shows because of medical reasons or because of like of money or because I can't find a ride (child support suspended my license and I have'nt had one for about 18 years) but I got a call from Rick (Pigstick) and was invited to go to a show at Club 415 ,. Rick and Keri picked me and inform me that the show was moved at the last minute to Jerry's Pizza because Club 415's power was out or something . Well we get downtown and at 6 pm it's still 99 degrees outside and and people are showing up from coming over from Club 415 and by the time the show starts with is about 7:30 the downstairs area is almost completely full of people here for the show. BLACKENED HORIZONS
The first band finally goes on and this is their very first show played , the five members of BLACKENED HORIZONS played a hella good set in the pit of hell of Jerry's basement (considering it was 99 outside it was probably 105 or plus downstairs) and how would I describe the band , well that's kinda hard but the best description I could give is that if CRASS, NAUSEA and MISERY had an illegitimate child , does that sound kinda weird yeah it does , but I liked the bands sounds and hope to hear more from them and hopefully I'll be able to make it out and be able to see them play again.
SCUM CUNTZ Up next and another band from Bakersfield were the SCUM CUNTZ who reminded me of Peter Pan's Army or Blatz or D.I.R.T. and it was a special show for them cuz it was the drummer's birthday, I haven't had a chance to see them before but they played a hella set and the crowd was into the band.
NO REGARD
Up next from L.A. county were No Regard with their hardcore sound with would have fit in perfectly with the 80's hardcore , in fact one band I kept hearing in the songs reminded me a lot of R.K.L. (which is a good thing) they raged thru their set and even though it hella hot they had a blast and had a friend get on stage a sing a song . Hella great band and I hope I get a chance to see them again .
SPUNK also from L.A. was suppose to play but due to an accident that wrecked their vehicle (but the band was ok) they were not able to make it , but they had another band that was suppose to play (Prohibition from Bako) but a incident outside stopped the band from being able to play . I don't know exactly what happened but I guess some guy got beat up and then the guy showed back up a few minutes later and got hit again, I heard different stories of what happened so since i don't actually know I'm gonna leave it at that. Over all I had fun and got to see some great bands, hung out with some old friends and got to meet some new ones . I know this show was from last month but I've still been going thru a lot of problems and dealing with stress, depression and hella pain so getting around is hard to do, but I plan on hopefully making to a few more shows soon and if and when I do you'll see me walking around taking pictures and videos of the bands. And if anyone is interested their are mp3's of the bands sets after all the pictures.
